THEATRE REVIEW : " Where The Blood Mixes"

Where the blood mixes a play by Kevin Loring about the struggles, trials and tribulations within the aboroginal community conquers the opinions of critics and challenges the audience minds. Although some may understand the meaning behind the production, it can also leave a question mark amongst the thoughts of many others.

This show had an intricate plot with subtle but, clever costume and settings . In return it made the play in my opinion much more worthwhile. The actors throughout watching 'Where The Blood Mixes" you can clearly tell was a good choice. They brought personality, and a sense of creativity to who they are portraying. The actor that played Mooch that goes by the name of Ben Cardinal you could tell was the best in drawing away from his normal self, because during the talk back I could easily tell that he was nothing like Mooch . For example, He wasnt whiny , and he didn't drag or extend his words; like a person that is whining does. To audience members watching, and analyzing the productions every move to guarantee they get there moneys worth; it authentically proved committment from his part. He was fuuny , and I believe that although the play did not mainly take place around him; he took the shine.

When talking about aggressive characters I think that would go to Floyd played by Bill Merasty. This attribute, owned up to the characteristics of this role. He was a angry, and discontent with the world; ever since his wife deceased. He feels that since shes gone, and since his daughter got taken away at a young age, he should give up all hope on life, and what it has to offer. But, throughout where the blood mixes, his personality shifts into a more happy life, once his daughter comes back, and addresses him .

The lighting was quite interesting , the main lighting was a faded lighting lighting , which is simple. Then came the intriguing lighting which was when, the director wanted to showcase the different symbols, and its relevance. All the lights would shut off, and a spotlight would shine on the background ;with a distinctive symbolization. The lights definetly set the scene, and the mood . The lights were low, and solemn to show the fact that the play was very sad. When it came down to makeup, and realism this play did that. There was no make -up and no big setting, but just genuine, and in the moment acting which I adored. Not only was there simple makeup, but there was manageable costume also.

The music was rendered in a unique manner; which in return left me compelled. In my opinion the musc through out the show reminded me of a musical. Although many would argue, my opinion differs from theirs. The music was not the catchy pop music a musical plays ; but the constant flow of acoustic flare and instrumental add-ins set that tone. The music was played to the viewers from a corner of the stage on a guitar. It which for the bar scenes they made it seem like it was a live performance, but then the all the others were depicted as ambiance music.

This pleasant creation in all honor, and glory deserves the governor general award that it recieved.

Olunike Adeliyi

One of my teachers past students came in recently and I loved her I think she was a beautiful spirit and an aspiration . Everything she made us know and proved to us that anything is possible. We just have to believe and I loved her and acknowledged and soaked in everything she said she is a romodel and an inspiration she told us her life story and she wasn't rich like many others but she made it and i know she will make it to the top she was in flashpoint , currently starring in the next Saw and so many other projects. I recommend Olunike to anyone she places everything in perspective she makes you know that anything is possible. I love her .. she was like a glass of lemonade on a hot day .. TRULY REFRESHING !

Life & Style : 6 Rules For Being Classy ( not trashy )

Hey Guys Fashion Update !

So I just purchased the Life & Style magazine & they had an article in which they were comparing whats trashy and whats classy so i decided to let share it with my readers..

1 . Dont Show too much Skin

2. Dont let labels define you
this goes with dont get caught up with wearing so many labels at one time .

3. Sit like Mama taught you
This mention is quite obvious & self - explanatory

4. Less Makeup is much more
I completely and utterly believe with this I personally hate make up at this stage in my life maybe my opinion will eventually change but right now i hate it. The only form of it i wear is mascara and lipgloss. I believe make up in my opinion makes alot of people uglier.

5. Wear underwear
I dont understand and neverwill understand the whole no underwear thing.

6. THINK BEFORE YOU INK
I AGREE ! people in society seem to love getting tatoos and they always tend to get the most stupidest non meaningful ones.
THATS MY TIPS !

HUGS & KISSES .... KISSES & HUGSS

STYLING YOUR IMAGE...

Today in class, it was quite interesting ; it consisted of establishing our image and making it professional. A dear friend of Mrs. Thomas came in named Julie Smith, she is a professional stylist and singer. She taught us about ur body shape, and how to dress for it. In which I discovered I am a banana. I don't a have wide bottom, nor do I have wide top. So thats when I fell into that category. she basically taught us how to flatter what we don't have, and tone down what we do. So in return our bodies look more intriguing. Me being someone that is majorly inlove with fashion; i really enjoyed this class. I grasped on to her everyword, and i hope to use it to my full advantage; because just by the way I dress it can open or close doors for me. By the end of her discussion she had one on ones with each student, to help them determine the color that goes along with their skin. A keen way she said that we should stay current is, and be memorable is we should determine Colors vs. Warm, and Contrasting vs. Complimentary. she also taught us how to dress for an audition:
1. Dont wear Logos
2.Dont arrive in costume
3.Dont wear Sandals
4.Dont wear alot of jewelry
5.Dont show cleavage
6.Dont Wear wrinkly Clothing
7. Dont Wear short skirts
8.No piercings
9. Do wear Business casual attire
Also, when going on Go sees or auditons bring an extra bag, with extra clothes, and a pair of heels. Although, time ran out before I could figure out mine i really enjoyed and appreciated her critique and time .
Love you LOTS !
Au revoir Chunk-a- munchkins .

SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Allo Y'all

During easter weekend, I finally got to catch up on the ins and outs of the industry for the new spring/ summer collection . There was a marathon on Fashion Television of Raw in which this is a show that shows all lastest fashion shows UNCUT so it shows nudity if there is any , it shows nip slips & Falls. so there were 23 runway shows that were shown and I only got to watch 17 . The designers that were shown were Dsquared, Armani, Cavalli (3 types) , Viktor& rolf, Norma Kamali, Versace, Gucci, Missoni, Pucci, Givenchy, Hussein Chalayn, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Hermes, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Issac Mizrahi, Proenza, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriquez, Alexander wang, Rodarte. I seemed to have seeked my favorites which were Dsquared [ Canadian designers], Armani, 2 Types out of the 3 types of Cavalli which were Just Cavalli & Cavalli. I loved Viktor & rolf there designs were very edgy they had cutoff dresses (e.g they would have stool poofy prom dresses with the middle cutout or the left or right side cutout or dresses with huge holes like cheese)

I adored it.

Bye Chunk-a munchkinss !
